Lazy as ludlum's dog

Thought I'd add this as phrase it didn't come up in the search. Obviously means very lazy. Apparently comes from a folk tale about Old Mother Ludlam, a witch who lived in a cave near Waverley Abbey, Surrey.
Her dog was so lazy it wouldn't even bark...
