: : Can you use the phrase in a sentence? "Light" refers to natural light from the sun. "Out of doors" means outside, out of the house. But it would help to see the phrase in context.
: Maybe it's the verb form of light, as in to flee or escape. As in "the children eagerly awaited their chance to light out of doors every Friday afternoon".
I was thinking that too. It might mean "light out" as in leave in a hurry. "There is a storm coming. We are going to 'light out' for home."
