: Any ideas on meaing and origin. I never hear it from anyone who came from this side of the pond.

"Cor blimey" and "Gor blimey" came from "God blind me" (if I'm lying, etc.). A rough equivalent in American is "May God strike me dead if . . ." British visitors to this site will no doubt have a more complete explanation-I'm on the west side of the pond too. You might also ask your grandparents.
