: P.S. The forum needs an automatic messaging
system when a person receives a reply! Wait, is that what the email address field is for?

"Here goes!" dates back to 1829. (“Random House Dictionary of Popular Proverbs and Sayings” by Gregory Y. Titelman (Random House, New York, 1996).Page 134.) Also learned that "Here's how!" was a toast during the U.S. Civil War. I couldn't find "Here goes nothing."
