: What's the origin of the phase "Roll the hard six."?
: I heard it on the TV show Battlestar Galactica. The character played by Edward James Olmos, Admiral William Adama, says this phrase a couple of times.
: It means (I think) that only the best result will solve the matter.

: Congrats on your site! I love it!

I am not sure if this helps much, but in the game of craps, 'six the hard way' or 'hardway six' is a roll of the two dice which results in both landing with the number three face up.

It is a more difficult way of getting a number than simply betting on number six, as any other possible combination (5 and 1, 4 and 2) doesn't count in a 'hardway' bet.
