: : I looked for 'It's a wrap' as in films and the answer posted only indicated the end (as in wrapping a parcel for example) I had been told it stood for Wind Reel And Print. Can anyone confirm?

: Don't take that "Wind . . ." story seriously. People make up such explanations at the drop of a hat, out of whole cloth, in thin air. "It's a wrap" does rely on the metaphor of wrapping a parcel, but it followed an earlier stage, "That wraps it up," as said by news announcers. ~rb
I looked in "Filmmaker's Dictionary," 2nd edition, by Ralph S. Singleton and James A. Conrad. Nothing about Wind Reel And Print.
