: Somewhere on my journeyings throughout the UK I picked up the phrase "On Valentine's Night there is no need to put up the light", i.e. there is enough natural light to eat your tea with out the need for artificial light. I have never met anyone else who has heard of this saying.
: Can you help please?

I'm in the UK, and don't know this as a formal phrase or saying - though it sounds like good advice. I think the meaning has more to do with romantic candlelit dinners than the ease of finding your food on the plate, though. (GC)
