: : : Can anyone define "Tin-Eared"? Thanks in advance!

: : tin ear (noun) 1935 -- a deafened or insensitive ear. (Merriam-Webster)

: I have usually heard the phrase "have a tin ear" used to mean tone-deafness or insensitivity to music. "Don't you just love this song?" "I'm sorry, I have a tin ear."
: SS

My tin ears were constantly criticised by an ex because I couldn't hear the difference between digital recordings (or CDs) and analogue recordings (or vinyl). So I took "tin ears" to mean "insensitve to music" rather than just "hard of hearing". My ex is very unhappy these days I hear, while I have prospered. Pamela
