: Anyone know the origin of the phrase "pigeon pair"?
: People said this to me when I had my second child, a girl, with my first child being a boy. It was said I now have a "pigeon pair"
It was once thought that pigeons typically laid two eggs, and that they hatched into a male and a female chick. You didn't have twins, but you still have a pigeon pair by having a boy-girl set. Lucky you!
