I'll beat the black off of you

Have you heard or know of the saying "I'll beat the black off of you" usually said by a black parent to a black child when doing something extremely wrong.

Yes. I've read it or heard it in a comedy routine. But I've never actually heard it in the flesh. Also, Bill Cosby said (in the 70s, I believe): "I'll beat you so hard you won't grow anymore." I guess with child abuse so prevalent, it's not so funny anymore.
