: : : Ok...S'mores, marshmello, chocolate, graham crackers, and I understand it probably means Some More, but in Canada they are called Smooshies (smoosh the marshmello). Where did they come from?

: : The Girl Scouts?

: The South? "s'mores - a Southern treat made of toasted marshmallows and chocolate sandwiched between graham crackers and sometimes wrapped in tin foil, then heated over a campfire; so named because they are so delicious you always want 's'more'; now packaged nationally as a sandwich cookie to be heat in the microwave oven." From Whistlin' Dixie: A Dictionary of Southern Expressions by Robert Hendrickson (Pocket Books, New York, 1993).

The alternate Canadian name for the product (commercial, not homemade) is almost certainly a trademark issue. Make them yourself around the campfire and you can call them Arthur.
