: Does anyone know the meaning of the phrase, 'Bread and pull it'. I have recently seen it in a puzzle book, have been unable to find meaning.

We didn't come to a conclusion. The guess was that one might wish for bread and pullet (chicken). But all you get is bread and "pull it." Pulling off another hunk of bread.
