: : : What is the origin of the phrase "rice rocket?"

: : : I heard some young people say it nearby a road.

: : The Rice Rocket is a snowboard. It is one of the original hard-carving, freestyle series of boards that has been refined to take you anywhere you want to go with your snowboarding. For more information, simply Google 'rice rocket.'

: A Rice Rocket may be the name of a snowboard, but I believe it originated with Harley riders who used it as a disparaging term for Japanese motorcycles. Also called "rice burner".

You are right on origin, having just spoken to my Harley riding friend. It also refers to the modern Japanese import cars.
