The thought is from the Bible but I couldn't find the phrase exactly. 2 Corinthians 9 -- 6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. (Bible: New International Version - NIV).

2. If you lie down with dogs you get up with fleas.
