: : : : Hello dear friends:

: : : : it's night, the nurse in the animal hospital calls the vet over an urgent case and she says:
: : : : "sorry to drag you out"

: : : : What does she mean: sorry for wasting his time, or waking him up, I couldn't find this combination:
: : : : dragging somebody out.

: : : : Thank you very much

: : : It means to pull/drag you away from what you were doing. It's often used whem someone is relaxing after work and is called back in for some emergency or other.

: : Thanks a lot.

: Because it's night, "drag you out" is particularly appropriate because the nurse's call drags the doctor out of bed and away from his comfortable home.

I've been visiting vets and vet clinics and sometimes animal hospitals for years and years, but until now never knew that they had vet nurses. Live and learn! SS
