"Hell or High Water"

I belive this phrase originates in the bible. Specifically, in Isaih, Ch. 43, verse 2, the Lord says he will be with us as we pass through the raging rivers (high water) or as we walk through the fire (hell). No substantiation that I've found, but it could well be. I hope this is intersting.
