: My parents used to say `You`d laugh to see a pudding crawl. My husband has never heard of it. Is there such a saying recorded?
I found a similar one, but not that one exactly, in Eric Partridge's Dictionary of Catch Phrases: American and British, from the Sixteenth Century to the Present Day:
"'what would shock me would make a pudding crawl'. It takes an awful lot to shock me: predominantly feminine: c. 1880-1920. 'Men were supposed to be unshockable, anyway' (Laurie Atkinson, 1971)."
