Interesting question, LOTG! So I looked up my children's school list. Now, we're on the US East Coast, in a Friends (Quaker) school, so I'm not saying this is totally representative of US 12th grade (senior year in high school) required reading, but here's the list:
Tale of Two Cities; Crime and Punishment; Dubliners; Room with a View; Beloved; Hamlet; Cat on a Hot Tin Roof; To The Lighthouse; selections from the Norton Anthology of Poetry.

A second course, this one for seniors who aren't quite as ready for college and need more practice writing, includes: Hamlet (again); The Handmaid's Tale; Inherit the Wind; Ishmael.

Some of the books you read are included in the lists for younger students: Brave New World (8th grade); Of Mice and Men (9th); 1984 (8th).
