Hi folks,

1.Is "a cat with nine lives" a phrase? How to use it?

He has spent most of his life in danger as the chief target of Israel. But, just like a cat with nine lives, Arafat escaped every time.

2.Could you explain "fair" in "fair share"?
No one goes through life without their fair share of problems.

"Cats have nine lives." Common phrase, based on a cat's ability to land on its feet, jump out of the way of trouble, and survive injury. Resilient little guys.

Fair = just, equitable. Your fair share is what you deserve, not too much, not too litle,
