: because as I understand it there was sneezing associated with the plague which was the last cycle before death, though what one would be doing dancing at this point is a little bewildering; poetic licence I suppose
"Ring Around the Rosie" is simply a nursery rhyme of indefinite origin and no specific meaning, and someone, long after the fact, concocted an inventive "explanation" for its creation.
