I am not sure about the meaning of the following sentence. Could anyone do me a favor?

More reporter began to specialize in relation to distinct news topics (labour, science, agriculture, and so forth) using 'impersonal', face-centered techniques of observation.

Do you mean "FACT-centered techniques of observation"?

Yes, you got it. Sorry for the misspelling.

by"using fact-centered techniques of observation" they mean to say tat the reporters remained objective and reported facts not opinions
