Crow mcgee

I recently posted a request for information about the American expression "crow mcgee" and received some very helpful and interesting replies. I wish to thank those individuals for their help while requesting more information.
The expression is quoted in some (rare) dictionaries, but what about it's real use?
It is supposed to mean: no good, unreal, false (Cassell's Dictionary of Slang), but what about it's actual use? Do you use it or hear it used? Is it just prison slang?
