I heard that till the cows come home originated at the the united states military academy. back in 1800's during west point's beginning, cadets did not get to go home until christmas their cow year (junior year). so, parents did not see their children for almost 3 years. so I guess "till the cows come home" is a really long time. I don't know, I never really thought of thecow milking explanation. that one makes sense too. that one about the party with the cows is a pretty garbage explanation though.
