Chasing rainbows

The popular song "I'm Always Chasing Rainbows" was written in 1918 by Joseph McCarthy (words) and Harry Carroll (music adapted from a Chopin melody) for the Broadway musical "Oh, Look." Sung originally by the immortal (?) Harry Fox and the Dolly Sisters. It was revived for an MGM musical in the '40s, and became a hit again. Perry como had a crack at it, as did Helen Forrest.

There was also a R&B song "Chasing Rainbows" in 1975 of little note.
