Is there a saying that talks about the "fickle hand of fate" and where
does it come from. If anyone knows it would be a great help for something
I am writing. Thanks!

I was surprised this wasn't in Barlett's Quotations. All I can remember is the catch-phrase from the old TV show, "Laugh In" -- they had a Fickled Finger of Fate Award every week.
