Cheggers as pregnant in general or with Chegwin offspring in particular?

I think the word you intended was 'euphemism'. MWO: "the substitution of an agreeable or inoffensive expression for one that may offend or suggest something unpleasant." Or possibly 'euphonism'? Not in the dictionary, but it would mean 'pleasant-sounding'.
