: 5.but we became friends and he grew on me. I learned to like him after being around him for a time.

: 6.my hubby fell for my son's fiancé. My husband fell in love with the woman who is going to marry my son.

: 7.a bit over the hill. A little bit old.

: 8.to meet on neutral ground to sort this out. To meet at a place that is not particularly favorable to either - a restaurant rather than the office or home of one person - to discuss something.

: 9.working up a real sweat. Working hard enough to perspire.

: 10.to cover their tracks. Getting rid of a trail of evidence that would lead to them and reveal their guilt.

These are excellent restatements, as always, but I would suggest that #9 is more likely to be used in a figurative sense rather than literally.
