1.I just don't know what to make of him. I don't know what to think about him. I don't understand him.

2.it's doing my head in. It's confusing me.

3.I think you're holding out false hope. You are not being realistic about the chances of something good happening.

4.he seems to want everybody around him to dance to his tune. He wants everyone to do what he wants.

5.but we became friends and he grew on me. I learned to like him after being around him for a time.

6.my hubby fell for my son's fiancé. My husband fell in love with the woman who is going to marry my son.

7.a bit over the hill. A little bit old.

8.to meet on neutral ground to sort this out. To meet at a place that is not particularly favorable to either - a restaurant rather than the office or home of one person - to discuss something.

9.working up a real sweat. Working hard enough to perspire.

10.to cover their tracks. Getting rid of a trail of evidence that would lead to them and reveal their guilt.
