What is the meaning of "preems" and "gig" in Prairie preems to flip burgers at Stones gig which I found in today's local newspaper? Thanks.

I assume this reffers to the Stones concert to benefit the effect of SARS in Toronto on July 30.
"Preems" is a an abreviation of " Premiers" in other words the leaders of the provincial governments. They are probably pitching in to help out with the benifit concert.
