: : : from your mouth to god's ears.........
: : : what does this mean?

: : It sounds like the strap-line from a commercial advertising the power of prayer.

: FROM YOUR LIPS TO GOD'S EARS - "May the prediction or wish you are making come true. Used to express appreciation for someone's hope that matters will turn out well. Also in the form 'from your mouth.' Often shortened to 'from your lips'. From Random House Dictionary of Popular Proverbs and Sayings by Gregory Y. Titelman (Random House, New York, 1996).

"There's many a slip twixt cup and the lip" I believe a saying routed in the Old Testament, where the prophesy was that the usurper would not enjoy the spoils - half way to drinking wine from the vineyard, he had to go off and got killed, thereby fulfilling the prophesy.
