: : : : : What does the phrase "I never taught my asshole to read" mean?

: : : : : I encountered that one today, and I've never seen it before.
: : : : :

: : : : I haven't seen it nor can I find anything like it in Google, but my take is "even though you can read, you're still an asshole".

: : :
: : : Me neither, but I would have thought: "What you've written is poop." Pamela

: : Me neither too, and I would have thought: "What you've written is bum-fodder, arse-wipe." - Bac.

: Perhaps I should explain my reasoning... I have heard other usages that are similar where there is an implied something along the lines of "... but your mother did." So we have "I didn't teach my asshole to read, but your mother taught her asshole (meaning you) to read."

I should explain my reasoning too. In cases when someone dismissed another's writing with contempt, I've heard them say in some form, "I'd sooner wipe my arse with it." I assume something like this is implied here --- as we may imagine the dialog: "Have you read my essay?" "No, I never taught my asshole to read." - Bac.
