: Googling gets you to the Matrozenchor of Den Haag (The Hague), a chorus of apparently some renown. The quatrain seems to be a sort of motto, and is associated with the name Shakespeare in the Matrozenchor literature, but not knowing Dutch (unlike Hans van Haarst) I got no further. SS

I went there too. There's a French version of the site, and I did a rough translation from there. I still don't know what Shakespeare has to do with anything. The quote doesn't seem to show up anywhere else.
