'The Fall of Dasus'

can some one help me locate a poem my mother used to tell me.
It was called,'The Fall of Dasus' ( not sure of the spelling...but it starts.
Alone, through moonlight forest glades .....
A soldier went by night.
No moonbeam pearce the dusky glade, no star shon guiding light..

I may have this about 90% correct.
Please help

That makes three of us. I've tried several spellings and segments. Can you remember any other parts?
