My mouth tastes like a chicken yard

Has anyone else heard "my mouth tastes like a chicken yard" to describe the nasty taste you get with a cold?

No. But I was raised on a chicken farm and can testify that this an apt phrase. That would be one dry and foul (fowl) mouth.

I once said to a Doctor that I had a bad taste in my mouth and she said yes, that happens, a taste like the bottom of a bird cage.
