Hissy fit

ok, here's one thats not listed. I often hear my g/f refer to someone having a 'hissy fit' any ideas people?

A fit is a sudden burst of activity.
Perhaps hissy is an alteration of hysterical.
Put the two together and you have an hysterical burst of activity aka hissy fit.

A variation: a screaming hissy fit.

And here are two expressions along the same line: a Donald Duck fit or a duck fit.
