: : : Anyone know the origin and meaning?

: : It is the name of a 1991 film starring River Phoenix who plays a narcoleptic male prostitute, and Keanu Reeves plays the son of the mayor of Portland who joins Pheonix in what is apparently meant to be a modern-day version of Shakespeare's Henry IV, Part II.

: : I think the phrase has a meaning or a more distant origin than the '91 movie. There is also a song wriiten/performed by the B-52's in the late '70's or early 80's with the same conotation that ---someone is in their own world.
: Sorry. Forgot to mention that the song is called "Private Idaho". In the song he sings
....."your living in your own private Idaho".
