: : : : "Octogenarian" is used to describe the age of someone who is 80 years old. Are there words for other ages? For instance, I just turned 50 -- what would I be called (besides "old" or "almost old" -- grin)?
: : : : Bob Allen
: : : Senior citizens:
: : : Sexagenarian
: : : Septuagenarian
: : : Octogenarian
: : : Nonagenarian
: : : Centenarian
: : : Supercentenarian
: : : I haven't found one for fifty.
: : I got 53 hits on Google for "pentagenarian".
: I am over 50. I prefer the word "crone." It has a nice honest ring to it. Or "elder" or just plain "old." I hate the term "senior citizen."
: And how about "silverback"?
: How about the PC "chronologically advanced?"
