WHATS THE SAYING?

Does anyone know the saying that means something about
window taxes,apparently years ago people used to block and paint their windows so that they didn't have to pay tax on them, it relates to this. Hurry cos everyone in the office is going mad!!!!!

That's probably the phrase that your colleagues are thinking of. The Window Tax may not be the origin though.
