TV news segues

I don't know about British TV, but much of local television news in the U.S. is inane. Today the news person was talking about a mother who beat her three children in the head with a rock -- killing two and maiming the third. It was a "sad situation," the news person said. "And this rainy weather is a sad situation."

I don't even know what to say about comparing the murder of three children with a rainy day.
