Nicknames for cities

Chicago is the Windy City; NYC is the Big Apple. What other cities have colorful nicknames like these?

Sheffield is, or more often was, called the Steel City. That originated in the days when Sheffield made the world's cutlery. The other UK city I know best - Birmingham, is known by local wags as the Celestial City. They are strong on irony down there.
