: has anyone come across any phrases with "molotov cocktail" in them? please send email to Thanks.

"Molotov cocktails" are empty pint beer bottles, scored so that they will easily break, filled with explosives and corked. A fuse is then attached to each bottle. (Life, 21 Oct 1940)

There is also "Molotov breadbasket."

Robert Considine, ed., Thirty Seconds over Tokyo (N.Y., Random House), p.40 Doolittle also told us that we would carry another bomb, a 500-pound incendiary, something like the old Russian Molotov Breadbasket. (Britannica Book of the Year, 1942)
