: : I was searching an expression we often use in our family: Home James and don't spare the horses! Came across this bulletin board. In my home (in the UK) we used to have a scratchy old gramophone record (a 78) with the song on it. I remember both the tune and first two lines very well: "Home, James, and don't spare the horses/This night has been ruined for me." The vocalist was female, I think (though the irregular speeds in those days make it uncertain.) The story was very dramatic, but unfortunately I don;t remember the rest!

: I found the song title on several sites including one with tunes from "Ambrose & His Orchestra
: Glamour Of The Thirties," 1996. But I couldn't open the file.

:

: It was on the soundtrack to the James Bond movie "Casino Royale," according to information online.

I picked up a virus and I think it was the above site. So beware.
