Is it? I'm a Simpson devotee and I've not heard it much. By-the-way, I think it's beginning to be used more commonly in other parts of the country. It still seems to refer to Southerners but it may evolve. After all, I hear young women referring to each other as 'Dude'. It's so wrong! *sigh*
