Connecting some of the earlier posts, there is a saying from Regency England (1780-1820?) regarding "fouling one's own nest", meaning bringing a "lightskirt" into your own home, which simply was not done.
"S***ting by the igloo" where everyone else has to deal with your selfishness & poor behavior seems along the same lines.
