The Rag and Bone Man

I am a photographer, and am currently working on a project about my mothers memories. as part of this ongoing process, my mother talked about the rag and bone men. If anybody can help me locate one, I would be most grateful. I understand it is a long shot, so I would be willing to travel anywhere to meet them.
