: My boyfriend bet my daughter $20 he could beat her at tennis. If he won the first game, her husband bet my boyfriend, double or nothing, he could beat him. How much would my son-in-law have to pay my boyfriend if he lost?
A double or nothing bet is an additional bet of the same size, in a re-run of the same wager or game. So if you lose $20, the re-run is for $20 again, so the result will be $40... or nothing.
