: : Does anyone know the origin of "scare the pee whine out of me"?

: I've never heard that expression. See pea wadding. www.phrases.org.uk bulletin_board 41 messages 178.html Maybe it's a variation of that.

I imagine it's 'pea wine', ie 'wine' made from peas, which is a euphemism for urine: thus it becomes to frighten the urine out of me.

Phrases involving the fact that when very frightened people lose control of their bladders and bowels are many and various.
