: In business/economics, is there a difference between "in the market" and "on the market"?

If your business is "on the market", it is for sale.

If your business is "in the market", it provides a certain type of product or service.

"In the market" could also mean that you own stocks, bonds, or other liquid Wall Street-type investments.
