Certainly its a typing exercise, it also uses alternate fingers to produce the correct words.

By the way, our current keyboard layout was devised to slow down typing and reduce the lockups associated with mechanical typewriters.

I've tried the much efficient DVORAK version, but my old fingers can't adapt. Some "hard-wired" things are hard to change.
