Straight means both direct (on a straight line, straightforward) and honest (not bent or crooked). How does that apply to priorities? I can only guess, but I think the speaker or writer means that his ability to keep to his priorities is subject to a little deviation here and there, when bad habits or undesirable temptations cross him up. He admits to being subject to human weakness. SS
